Seth is part of a big family–he has 4 brothers and a sister. His mom is very organized–she even homeschools the 3 oldest kids–but needs more help around the house and reached out to us to find out how to get that help. When we talked to her, she expressed that bathrooms and the kitchen were getting cleaned on a regular basis but dusting was always left until later and never got done. Seth’s older 2 brothers were already helping around the house so we suggested that Seth help with dusting. We set up a Zoom meeting with Seth and his mom to teach Seth why dusting is important and how to do it–and we did it in a way that made dusting as interesting as it can be to a 6 year-old boy (think enlarged pictures of dust mites–he loved it!). We had a follow-up session a week after the initial session to see how Seth was doing with his dusting. We’ll be honest–it’s still a chore and Seth is still a 6 year-old boy BUT he was keeping up with the chore, getting better at it, and one thing came off his mom’s plate. All good!
