Helping a busy family of 4 achieve a tidy home

Ray and Sharon are a 40-something couple with a teen and tween living at home. They both wanted a clean, peaceful home where all 4 family members contributed to keeping the home pleasant and peaceful. It was important to them for their son and daughter to learn to be good future roommates and spouses. Sharon grew up in a chaotic home where things only got done when the parents screamed at the kids. Ray grew up in a more organized home but has ADD and finds it hard to stick with household routines. Neither spouse could figure out how to make their household work. They were frustrated which led to tension in the marriage. We had a number of Working Sessions with various family members–as individuals and in groups–so we could learn what motivated (and de-motivated) each family member as well as what their strengths and weaknesses were. We determined a better way of assigning jobs, established processes to get the work done, established accountability, and helped the family learn to communicate effectively if things weren’t working well. Ray and Sharon love the improvement in their marriage and seeing their children grow as contributing household members.
